Photo Manipulation and Ethics
A. Some of the points made in the article is that their is a fine line between manipulating too much and just enough. Another point made was that photoshop tools are becoming widely available and easier to use.
B. The philosophy behind those newspapers is to provide strict rules for photoshop so they can portray what actually happened, but still enhance the picture.
C. It is acceptable to change small things so the picture looks better, but it is not acceptable to change big picture things. it is also not acceptable to change anything that would change the meaning of the picture.
D. This picture is very unethical because the producers first off did not get permission from either girl in the picture. This is also unethical because Oprah never took the picture and they did not give any credit to the original model in the picture.
E.
I think this picture is the least unethical because they just squeezed mountains together. Granted, the magazine company is not portraying a realistic image of the mountains, but it does not create unrealistic standards for society like some of the unethical images.
