The Three Pillars of Photography

Image
f2.8 aperture:  f16 aperture: 1. the pupil 2. the smaller the aperture the bigger the eye, the larger the aperture the smaller the eye 3. The larger the aperture, the more depth you are able to capture.  High Shutter Speed Slow shutter speed  1. a-high shutter speed b- high shutter speed c- high shutter speed d-low shutter speed e-fast shutter speed f-fast shutter speed 2. a-low shutter speed b- low shutter speed c- high shutter speed d- medium shutter speed e- medium shutter speed f- low shutter speed iso  1. An advantage of having a picture with a higher ISO at a basketball game is that you are able to capture the image in less time than what you would be able to capture in lower ISO 2. You should use a lw ISO when there is lots of light so you can keep the quality and clarity 3. You should use a higher ISO when there isn't lots of light already provided for the picture.  DSLR Camera:...

Portrait Intro

1. Experiment with lighting 2. Shoot Candidly 3. Play with backgrounds Environmental Portrait: I liked these portraits because you could see the subject clearly even though they were in a crowded background. I also think the background helps tell the story of the picture and gives you information about the subject. Photography Self Portrait: I like the first self portrait because it was taken on an old vintage camera. The photographer also was very creative and took the picture in a mirror. I like the second self portrait because she used the light in a creative way. The background of this photo is also very similar and sets a mood for the picture. Casual Portrait: I like these portraits because they don't feel very forced. I also like the cool tones used in the first image.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

Image
A. Some of the points made in the article is that their is a fine line between manipulating too much and just enough. Another point made was that photoshop tools are becoming widely available and easier to use. B. The philosophy behind those newspapers is to provide strict rules for photoshop so they can portray what actually happened, but still enhance the picture. C. It is acceptable to change small things so the picture looks better, but it is not acceptable to change big picture things. it is also not acceptable to change anything that would change the meaning of the picture. D. This picture is very unethical because the producers first off did not get permission from either girl in the picture. This is also unethical because Oprah never took the picture and they did not give any credit to the original model in the picture. E.  I think this picture is the least unethical because they just squeezed mountains together. Granted, the magazine company is not portraying a reali...

A dating app where you match with other people. You get a "match" and then the app suggests restaurants.  Long Answers:  1. Child actors are being forced to grow up quickly because of the extreme pressure being placed on them by fans, parents, and managers. Social media also plays a role in how quickly child actors must grow up, and it may be affecting them negatively.  2. Some problems with being a child actor are the boundaries that people can go to. People don't know how to treat child actors, and what is and is not appropriate to talk about. Another problem is not being in control of their pay checks. One issue mentioned is living a life on social media and being brainwashed into thinking that's how life needs to be. The article also mentioned that social media can negatively affect child actors, and som...

Photography Composition

Image
1. Simplicity The simple background used in the picture helps to make sure that the viewer can focus on one thing. Nothing in the background competes with the main focal point. 2. Rule of Thirds In the photo above, the camera has focused the most important elements along the imaginary grid. This helps add a balance to the photo. 3. Lines In the photo above, the white street lines lead the readers eyes toward the alerting sign. 4. Balance Having the buildings be even on both sides makes the picture feel more balanced. It also leaves little white space that can make the picture feel boring. 5.  Framing The picture above uses framing by showing the water surrounding the island. The water makes the island feel far away, but also gives the eye nothing else to focus on. 6. Merging In the picture above, the people leaving the building and the firefighter overlap. The key elem...

I would choose the Bose Sounlink Micro which is a portable bluetooth speaker. I would choose this because I use bluetooth speakers often and like how it is portable and small. Long Answers: 1. The book is called "Fire & Fury" 2. Trump's lawyer and himself want the book's sales halted because they believe it contains untrue material and the book lack's evidence. They do not want any slander or negative opinions about Trump to be published for the public to read. They also do not want people getting an inside view on some of the events that take place in the White House, or the people in the White House. 3. I think that a president should not be able to halt the distribution of a book. I believ...

2017 Prompts & Winter Break Vacation Q's

Image
1. The best song of 2017 was Too Good At Goodbyes by Same Smith. I enjoyed this song because I though it was different than the current music. Instead of incorporating any pop elements, it was mainly him singing. This was a welcomed change from the current music of my generation. I also liked this song because it took you on a journey that you could tell was personal. 2. I thought Wonder Woman was the best movie of 2017. I liked this movie because I thought it was very well done and I never felt bored or confused while watching it. I also liked how both the protagonist and antagonist were women. It also ties in the mythical world Wonder Woman came from and the real world. I like that the movie was set in the middle of World War 2. 3. "Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to join White House as senior adviser; no formal role for Ivanka Trump" was the most important news story of 2017. I find this news article so interesting because it shows the blatant nepotism in th...

Favorite Photos of the Year

Image
I like this picture because it shows a confederate statue being removed from Dallas. I think this is one of my favorite photos because it sparked so much controversy and we got to hear from two different sides about what should be done with the statues. I like this picture because the government took action make sure the people felt heard. This also showed the violence that can transpire from a monumental action.  This is one of my top three favorite pictures of 2017 because it shows people taking a stand and exercising their 1st amendment right. I like this because people started to speak up for the changes they wanted to see in the United States. I also liked this because it caused lots of mixed feelings among fans.  I like this picture because it shows something that was not a popular topic of discussion in the U.S. People in the country were not very aware of what was going on in Venezuela. There were maybe three or four news reports that I saw on news chann...
