A couple weeks ago a lockdown situation was presented at Akins High School when a former student showed up to campus with ammunition. The administration was quickly notified and they took the proper steps to insure that everybody remained safe.

Yes, the lead sentence interested me to keep reading so I could learn more about the events that took place.

The conclusion was a quote by the superintendent. 
COMMENTARY:

Many students were upset that the chromebooks blocked non-educational sites. However, the author believes that these chromebooks are for educational purposes only and should not be ale to access certain sites.

There were no quotes in the story.

The lead sentence did make me want to keep reading. I was interested on the stance the author would take because most people are against the chromebooks not being allowed to access non-educational websites.

The conclusion was a statement.

A student at Bowie uses guns to get closer to family. He believes that when used safely, guns can be beneficial, and that they are not a toy and need to be taken seriously.

The lead sentence did not make me want to keep reading because I'm not interested in hunting. Although, once I kept reading, the piece was very informational.

ENTERTAINMENT:

Although Alyssa Shumaker is only a freshman at Bowie, that has not stopped her from having multiple acheivments. She participates in not only tech theatre, but is also on the debate team.

"If you have the drive, the work ethic, and the positive attitude, those three things alone make you successful," Huerta said.

The lead did make me want to keep reading. It gave a little bit of an idea about what the piece would be about, without giving the entire story away.

ATHLETICS:

Two seniors have been wrestling for a long time and have put lots of work into perfecting their sport. They both made it to state and won 1st and 5th.

REVIEWS:

Although the students appreciate the thought of the new food truck, they believe that the options are not the healthiest and the money could be put toward something else. They think that the cafeteria should work on making more enticing food rather than add more options.

The lead sentence did make me want to keep reading. The food truck has also been a point of interest for me since we didn't have one before and it randomly showed up with no attention.

IN-DEPTH: 
2 Sentence Summary: 
Because of recent events, awareness surrounding mental health has been increased. However, some students do not agree that it should because this brings false awareness or untrue things surrounding mental illnesses.

2. What quote was the strongest in your opinion?
"What I see is the more our parents, students, all of us in our world, can actually be able to name something and understand it and see it from a human point of view, the better off we are with coping with the situation," Leos said. 
3. Did the lead sentence make you want to keep reading?
The lead sentence did make me want to keep reading because after a couple of weeks, news regarding the Douglas school shooting has diminished.

The conclusion was a quote. 

1. What is your favorite photo in the entire paper?
-My favorite photo in the entire paper was the picture for "Freshman makes time for tech theatre and speech". 
1A. Why is this your favorite?
This was my favorite because you don't normally see what goes on behind the scenes of a play, the cameras are more focused on the actors. 
2. What is your least favorite photo in the entire paper?
My least favorite photo is from the article "Sophomore bonds with family through hunting." 
2A. Why is this your least favorite?
This was my least favorite because it was a picture of a student posing with a gun and a dead animal. I don't like hunting so I did not like this picture. 
3. If you were a photographer on staff, which event/photo assignment would you have liked to do for this issue? You will need to look through the entire paper and see the topics covered and decide which one you think would have been fun.
I would have like to photograph for the article mention in the first question. I think that this would be a fun thing to cover because you get to learn more about what goes on back stage to make the play that the audience gets to see. 
4. Overall, how would you rate the photography in this issue? What were the strong points and weak points.
I would rate the photography in this issue a 9/10. This is because the pictures were clear, and directly related to the topic of the article. I think that some of the picture could have been more creative. Some of them were just pictures of a persons face when they could be someone playing a sport or doing an activity.
