1. Do we perceive beauty?
I believe all people are capable of perceiving beauty. I believe we are able to recognize beauty, but have trouble to truly appreciate it.
2. Do we stop to appreciate it?
I don't think most of us will stop and appreciate beauty. One of the reasons I think this is because of the article and video we watched this class. Very few people stopped and took time to appreciate the work of a child prodigy. I believe children can appreciate beauty, but as we grow older, we stop appreciating it.
3. Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?
I think that if we take the time, we are able to recognize talent in an unexpected context. If we do not take a moment in the day to stop and look at our surroundings, lots of stuff can be missed. People can recognize talent in an unexpected context if we choose to take a moment to.
If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?
We are missing lots of things by not being aware of our surroundings. For example, a homeless man passed away L'enfant Plaza in D.C.. Not because he was alone, but because people didn't take the time to be aware. I think we miss lots of things because we choose not to take a moment and stop to appreciate everything.
